  • A wire wreath frame.
  • Dried yellow roses
  • Dry foliage.
  • Ribbons.
  • A pair of scissors and garden shears and
  • Floral wire.

After getting these materials ready take the following steps:

  • Gather all your dry flower foliage and trim them all to a size of 6 inches. Here are some suggestions as for the dry foliage that you can use- oak, magnolia, asparagus ferns and cushion bush.
  • Next, cut the stems of the dried roses about 5 inches down its calyx so that you will have 6-inch Rose blooms to work with.
  • Then make a bunch of your dry foliage trimmings with the cut ends of the trimmings facing the same direction. Arrange at least three of your dried roses on the top of the dry foliage bunch. Place the bunch on the wire wreath frame.
  • If you do not happen to find this wire wreath form, then one own your own using an old wire hanger. Just bend the wire hanger into a circle and you will have your wire wreath frame.
  • After placing the bunch of the dry foliage with the yellow roses on the wreath frame. Secure it firmly to the frame using floral wire.
  • Next make another bunch of the same kind together with the flowers on top and secure it to the wreath frame in the same way as the first. Your second bunch of dry foliage and flowers should slightly overlap the first one covering its trimmings.
  • In this way continue wiring the bunches with the flowers one slightly overlapping the other till you complete the full circle of the wreath frame.
  • By the end of the wreath circle you will have your wreath of dried roses ready.
  • You can apply a finishing touch to your wreath with bow on the base of the wreath.

Occasional Wreaths- Dried Flower Sabbath Day Wreath

After creating the earth in six days, God took a rest on the seventh day. This seventh day on which God took His day off, we call it the Sabbath Day. Hence, we have the tradition of taking the seventh day of the week as the rest day or the Sabbath Day.

 

So on this Sabbath Day try doing some thing different, some thing different like making a wreath of dried flowers. Not only will this little exercise make you feel relaxed, but you will also have some thing to further enhance the décor of your home. To make this dried flower Sabbath day need all you will require are the following items.

 

·        A grapevine or a straw wreath base.

·        Dried flowers, include your favorite ones.

·        Dried green moss.

·        Hot glue.

·        A pair of pruning shears.

·        Ribbon and other wreath decorations.

 

So to start with pick a 12-inch straw or a grapevine wreath base from any floral or craft store.

  • Continue wrapping the foliage round the wreath frame until the bunches cover the frame fully. Once the two ends of the of the bunches meet after making a full circle, overlap one over the other and tie it using the floral wire.
  •         Arrange your dry flowers as the way you want them to appear on the wreath, by inserting their stems into the wreath base. Secure the flowers to the wreath with the floral wire.
  •         Now that the dried flower wreath is ready take the white colored ribbon, make a simple bow out of it and secure it to the base of the wreath.

Dried Flower Wreath - Making A Mother Goose Wreath

Cut the excess floral wire with scissors. Now make the mother goose. Take the artificial bird and get it ready for the wreath. Take the piece of cloth and cut it to make a small skirt for the bird. Use needle and thread to stitch the skirt. See that the skirt you are making fits the goose well. Also cut one more piece and make a small and bright top for the bird. Stitch the top well.

Place the dried roses in the wreath base and secure them with hot glue. In between the dried roses you can place the rose buds. This will make the wreath look lively.

Now place the mother goose at the base of the wreath. Make the mother goose dangle at the center of the wreath and place the dried roses and the rose buds in the wreath base. Now hang the wreath to decorate your home.

Dried Flower Wreath - Making A Vintage Spring Wreath

Spring is a season of the new beginning and delights after the long winter. It is an ideal time for decoration as we get numerous flowers bloom throughout the spring season. Let’s make use of this spring in making a vintage spring wreath.

If you are interested in making a sparkling vintage spring wreath, then you will require the following materials:

  • Styrofoam wreath base
  • Small Christmas items like acrylic paint, Santas
  • Newspaper
  • Red metallic spray paint
  • Red tinsel garland

  • Red satin ribbon

  • Dried spring flowers (dried daisies, dried hyacinth)

Before you begin your work its better to decide on the type of base that you are going to work. Working in a Styrofoam wreath base is a good option for beginners. Remember to soak the foam wreath base in lukewarm water for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes take it out from water and allow it to dry.

Apply the red metallic spray paint all over the wreath base after it dries. Again leave the wreath base aside to dry. After sometime when the paint has dried wrap the red tinsel garland around the wreath base. Remember to cover the wreath base completely with red tinsel garland. Secure the tinsel garland with straight pins.

Cut the excess tinsel garland with scissors. Now its time to place the spring flowers in the foam wreath base. At first place the dried flowers in the wreath base. It is better to use dried daisies and dried hyacinth for this purpose.

Cut the floral heads leaving at least 3”. This will look good while you arrange them in the wreath. Remember to leave gaps while placing dried flowers in he wreath base. As you go on placing the dried flowers continue to wrap them. Use red wire to wrap the flowers in the wreath base. You can also apply hot glue at the base of the dried flowers.

In between the gaps left you can place the fresh spring flowers. For fresh flowers you can use tulips, daffodils. Follow the same procedure while placing the fresh spring flowers. Wrap them with red wire. While placing the flowers see that they face the same direction.

At last when you have finished placing the flowers in the wreath its time to decorate your wreath base with different decorative items. Attach acrylic fruits, Santas in the wreath. Take the red satin ribbon and make a bow out of it. Hang the wreath according to your suitable place.

Indoors people usually celebrate it by relaxing, as May Day is public holiday. Other than the usual, people celebrate this day by having a family feast, merry-making and the most important of all decorating their homes with the May Day wreaths. 

 

You can make a May Day wreath with any variety of flowers, but the best will be with dried flowers. As dried flower last for many years preserving with it all the fine memories of the May Day celebrations. So if you are thinking of making a May Day wreath with dried flowers you will need the following requirements along with the flowers of course.

 

  •         A grapevine wreath base.
  •        Dried flowers of your choice.
  •        Floral wire.
  •        Green floral tape.
  •        One pair of scissors.
  • ·      Satin ribbon.

 

Take your dried flowers of your choice and bunch five or six of them together by wrapping it with green floral tape. You need to make many bunches of this kind according to the size of your wreath. Arrange these bunches along the grapevine wreath by inserting their stems into the vine gaps.

 

Then step back and take a look at your arrangement of flowers, if they appear nice and full and more important if their arrangement satisfies you, then you can go ahead and secure the dried flowers permanently to the wreath using floral wire. Dried Flower Wreath - Making A Dried Felicitation Wreath

The word felicitation means to congratulation. We can also say the felicitation is honoring any person. The best way to congratulate your friend is giving a felicitation wreath.

Are you interested in making a dried felicitation wreath for your friend? Then just collect the following materials:

  • Styrofoam wreath base
  • Colorful curly ribbons
  • Pearl spray
  • Dried calla lilies
  • Fresh bird-of-paradise
  • Congratulation card
  • Glue
  • Floral green tape
  • Scissors
  • Pink acrylic paint

Determine on the type of base that you wish to use for making your dried felicitation. If you decide to work in Styrofoam wreath base then it is better to soak it in lukewarm water for around 20 minutes.

Keep it aside and allow it to dry. Apply pink acrylic paint all over the wreath base and allow the paint to dry. At the meantime get ready with the flowers. Take the dried calla lilies and cut off the stems.

Leave at least 3 to 4” from the floral head and cut the stems at an angle of 45 degree. Use sharp scissors for this purpose. The stems might get crush if you use a blunt device for cutting the stems. If the stems crush then they would no longer remain in a good condition.

Repeat the same procedure with the fresh bird-of-paradise. Take the flowers and slash off the stems leaving 3” of the floral head. Remember to have an angular cut. As soon as you cut the fresh flowers put them back in the water. Otherwise the fresh flowers will wilt.

Now that you are ready with both the flowers its time to make the wreath. Make small holes in the Styrofoam wreath base and pour little drops of glue so that it becomes easy to attach the flowers in the base.

First place the dried flowers in the wreath. Leave one alternate hole and go on placing the dried calla lilies. Press the flowers in order to secure them. Be careful while placing the flowers, remember that you are using dried flowers those are fragile.

After you finish placing the dried calla lilies its time to place the fresh bird-of-paradise. Follow the same process and place the fresh flowers in the wreath base. If you wish you can cover the Styrofoam wreath base with floral green tape. This will cover the stems of the flowers in the wreath base.

Add few decorations like a large bow at the top of the wreath. Add pearl sprays to make your wreath look eye catching. At the center of wreath you can attach a congratulation card for your friend. Attach a wreath hanger at the top back of the wreath. Now hang the wreath in your friend’s room

Dried Flower Wreath - Making A Button Wreath For Easter

For that you will need the following materials:

  • Buttons of white and gold colors and shapes
  • Cardboard
  • Two dinner plates
  • Hot Glue
  • Dried flowers
  • Artificial berries
  • Ribbons

As you begin your task of making a button wreath for Easter you first need to place the bigger dinner plate on the cardboard. Trace the dinner plate on the cardboard and cut its shape. Now place the smaller plate inside the bigger one and again trace it out.

Cut off the smaller size in the cardboard. Now you get the base on which you are going to make the button wreath for Easter. Select places where you want to attach the dried flowers. Apply hot glue at the base of each dried flower and attach them on the wreath base.

Press the dried flowers so that they are properly stick to the wreath base.  Remember to leave few gaps in between the dried flowers. In between the gaps set the artificial berries. Apply glue at the base of the artificial berries and press them at the wreath base.

Now decorate the wreath base with buttons. Attach the buttons at the outer rim of the base in a line. Apply glue at the back of each buttons and fix then on the base. You can also make circles of buttons around the dried flowers. Remember to place the alternate colors of buttons.

At last apply hair spray on the dried flowers. Make a large bow to make your wreath look ornamental. Fasten ribbon at the back of the cardboard base like a hanger. Hang the wreath in your wall.

Dried Flower Wreath - Ways Of Making A Red Cross Wreath

Red cross is an international organization that works for the poor and needy people all over the world. This organization provides emergency assistance; disaster relief and education all round the world. They offer their service in different areas like community services to help the needy, communication services and comfort for military members and family members, blood donation, educational programs, and international relief and development programs.

Let us honor this great organization with a dried tulip wreath. For making a dried tulip wreath gather the following materials:

  • Willow wreath about 12 to 14”
  • Dried tulips (pink, yellow, lavender, white, and blue.)
  • Baby’s breath

At first Place a piece of newspaper on the table where you are going to work. This will save your workspace from hot glue.

Now take the willow wreath on which you are going to work. Take some beige straw and add them on the willow wreath. This will act like an anchor for the flowers in place. Apply some hot glue at the base of the wreath and also inside the frame and very softly push the moss into the place.

Take two ribbons and wrap them around the wreath. Continue wrapping the ribbon all over the wreath starting from the top of the wreath. This will hold the moss in place and also act like an anchor. Leave a gap of at least 3” in between each piece of ribbon.

Now start placing the dried flowers in the wreath. Cut the stems of the dried tulips. Use craft scissors to cut the firm stems of the dried tulips. Cut the stems of the flowers in such a way that you can insert them in the willow as the bud itself will not be flat against the wreath.

Use glue to insert the dried flowers in the willow wreath. The ribbon will hold the flowers in place and the moss will cover the stem. Combine the proper colors of the dried flowers to make the wreath look attractive. Fill the empty gaps with buds once you are satisfied with the placement of the dried flowers. You can also add filler flowers to make your wreath look attractive.

Cut the ribbon and make a bow. Tie the bow at the top of the wreath. Now hang the wreath on the door or on the wall.
