Flower Arrangement - Try Making A Chinese New Year Wreath
New year means that something new is coming. With the coming of the New Year we all make new resolution and we tend to follow those. We all like to celebrate our new year with beautiful arrangement. Let us this time try making a New Year wreath following the certain symbols of the Chinese.
The Chinese believe that twelve years each represent different signs. The first among the twelve years represent rat. The ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig follow it. These are the symbols that are used in making a New Year wreath. Have you ever tried making a Chinese New Year wreath? Not yet then what are you waiting for buddy.
Hurry up see the list below and collect the materials as fast as possible:
- Cardboard
- Big and small plates
- Construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Small pieces of wool
At first take the big plate and trace it in the cardboard. Cut the circle carefully in the cardboard. Now place the small plate in the cardboard. Trace it and then cut the outline. After you cut you will get the frame of the wreath.
Now cut strips of construction paper at a length of about 1 ½” by 4”. Make small rolls of the construction paper and glue their ends. Remember that it should look like a paper chain.
Take the construction paper rolls and attach them to the wreath frame that you have made. Place the rolls according to their colors that is in an alternative manner. Cover the entire wreath frame with the paper rolls.
Now take small pieces of wool and tie them to each Chinese signs. Place these Chinese zodiac signs all over the wreath in a clockwise manner. If you find it difficult to remain the signs in place then you can even apply glue to them.
Apply glue at the back of each Chinese zodiac signs and attach them to the wreath frame. Now hang the New Year wreath either at the front door or against the walls of your home.
