Dried Flower Wreaths

The unique world of dried wreaths

Occasional Wreath- Children’s Day Wreath with Yellow Roses

The color yellow is energetic, yellow is happiness, cheerfulness and gaiety. Yellow is the color that evokes a kind of a warm and pleasant feeling, yellow is innocence and yellow is also a “dirty fellow.” Roll all these attributes of yellow into one and you get children, the little “dirty fellows.” So the perfect way to celebrate or commemorate the Children’s Day will be with dried yellow roses. Weave the roses into a wreath and you will have a decorative piece and as well as memory of the day to cherish later in life.

To make this Children’s Day wreath you will need:

  • A wire wreath frame.
  • Dried yellow roses
  • Dry foliage.
  • Ribbons.
  • A pair of scissors and garden shears and
  • Floral wire.

After getting these materials ready take the following steps:

  • Gather all your dry flower foliage and trim them all to a size of 6 inches. Here are some suggestions as for the dry foliage that you can use- oak, magnolia, asparagus ferns and cushion bush.
  • Next, cut the stems of the dried roses about 5 inches down its calyx so that you will have 6-inch Rose blooms to work with.
  • Then make a bunch of your dry foliage trimmings with the cut ends of the trimmings facing the same direction. Arrange at least three of your dried roses on the top of the dry foliage bunch. Place the bunch on the wire wreath frame.
  • If you do not happen to find this wire wreath form, then one own your own using an old wire hanger. Just bend the wire hanger into a circle and you will have your wire wreath frame.
  • After placing the bunch of the dry foliage with the yellow roses on the wreath frame. Secure it firmly to the frame using floral wire.
  • Next make another bunch of the same kind together with the flowers on top and secure it to the wreath frame in the same way as the first. Your second bunch of dry foliage and flowers should slightly overlap the first one covering its trimmings.
  • In this way continue wiring the bunches with the flowers one slightly overlapping the other till you complete the full circle of the wreath frame.
  • By the end of the wreath circle you will have your wreath of dried roses ready.
  • You can apply a finishing touch to your wreath with bow on the base of the wreath.
